Sensationalism Is Not Sustainable

Many forced labor, or human trafficking campaigns, and documentaries are heavily political, moral and sensational, rather than based on empirical data and research. They also address the issue of forced labor in threads, rather than deal with the entire web. With a research driven approach, Makeshift Americas illustrates the bigger picture of forced labor, helping to connect the dots in this seemingly labyrinthine system of migration, class, gender and race with case studies from Latin America.
